Atropus, the Baleful Shade will be available on the Marketplace until Saturday at 12PM PST.

Atropus will use Aqua dragon scaling (Dragon Affinity and Intelligence being it's strongest traits). It has the Adept Dragon Trainer skill, as well as the Shadow Cry skill from Eseriel Frostshadow.

Like Alstromera, Atropus is using the new gender-based title system where it will reward a different title based on the gender of your character. Male characters will get "Master of Shadows" and female characters will get "Mistress of Shadows". Because it is possible to get both titles on one character (if you are inclined) each title rewards only half of the total previous exclusive titles rewarded.

I love this dragon and his design.. Thank you so much.

But without wanting to nag, but for the price, the dragon could have got higher attribute values than 3 / 3.5

Can I put the dragon back in an egg to hatch again? Or does he lose his special skill as a result?

I went off of the wiki as I can't remember which dragon has which stats; when I have time I'll double check by maxing out stats, and can change it if necessary.


That is something that is currently out of our hands; Runewake designed the system in a way that we cannot currently control what stats a dragon gives from non-hatched eggs. This will change in the future once we release our big update.

For now I would not bother with re-egging, as we will be releasing an item to max out stats with the large update, which we are hoping to do so end of this month, or in September (depending on time constraints or any issues that may occur). We will also have a method for maxing out stats of exclusive eggs, but again requires the source code update.

Thank you for your fast answer and your advice. I will wait until the the update appears. I love these dragon so much, but he should not only look good, he should also be able to achieve something. That's why I ask..



Before I forget:
Please implement also the other languages for the new items. Sometimes it is a riddle what does an item do.. lol
But I know you work on it..

German has only 4 strings left, and Russian is basically done.

French has a bit more to do, but the translators have been busy lately.

We're still looking for someone to complete Chinese, Japanese and Turkish translations.

oops, i accidentally deleted that skill, as it looked like Strengthen Dragon Affinity (guess i need to learn to read)

its pretty weird. when i look at the dragons stats its like the one of an aqua dragon (highes focus then strength...), when i post it other people actually see it as dragon affinity scaling like windrider^^ how can that be?

They may have not updated their client; originally we were going to do Windrider, but instead did Aqua.

I haven't confirmed it yet, but it may be that Shadow Cry may be restricted to certain dragons. They've done it a few times with other skills.

Shadow Cry is being looked into, however the issue is that they hardcoded it to either work on Duskreavers, or that specific model.

The problem is that each choice I have to resolve the issue has pros and cons, and I have to look further into things before I can decide the route I go with.
